Stone Advisors is a veteran-owned “business resolutions” firm with a well-known reputation for resolving troubled businesses and failed bank situations. The founding partners of Stone Advisors were at ground zero during the Texas banking crisis in the late 1980s.   We gained notable bank resolution experience and expertise by helping banking regulators resolve insolvent savings and loan institutions (S&Ls) under the Southwest Plan managed by FDIC. In 1988, we personally led the Bluebonnet Savings Bank Government-Assisted resolution transaction involving the simultaneous acquisition and merger of 15 S&Ls that had failed due to bad loans and fraud. Bluebonnet became one of the best executed “good bank/bad bank” resolution outcomes for FDIC. Stone Advisors has been directly involved in resolving failed bank situations for FDIC by providing receivership assistance contractor (RAC) services, including RAC functional tasks like asset management/servicing, operations, investigations, claims, and settlements. Stone Advisors has deployed over 250 bank resolution professionals to approximately 50 FDIC failed bank situations from 2008 – 2012. In each situation, Stone Advisors recruited, screened, hired, trained, and deployed professional bank resolution resources under tight schedules to meet the exact requirements of each specific FDIC Task Order.
